On the 23rd of April 2010, Stephen Forsey, co-founder of Greubel Forsey, inaugurated the first presentation salon entirely dedicated to the young watchmaking brand. Located inside the Elegant Watch & Jewellery boutique in the Central district of Hong Kong, this Private Room perfectly reflects the Greubel Forsey DNA. The exclusive elegant atmosphere provides Greubel Forsey’s timepieces with surroundings befitting their high intrinsic value, and it transmits the spirit and philosophy of Greubel Forsey: invention, creativity and genuine craft.
The inauguration of the Greubel Forsey Private Room is an important event for the Chaux-de-Fonds based brand, solidifying their development strategy in the rapidly expanding Asian haute horlogerie market. In Asia, Elegant Watch & Jewellery was also one of the very first point-of-sales for Greubel Forsey.
Stephen Forsey stressed, “This Private Room, decorated with serenity and luxury, creates an atmosphere aligned to the environment of the Greubel Forsey Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Everyone in our company does their utmost to craft exceptional timekeepers and with this Greubel Forsey Private Room, our partners at Elegant Watch & Jewellery will be able to work in the same spirit as we do in Switzerland, conveying the same passion and drive for perfection that imprints all of our timepieces”.
Hong Kong is a strategic city due to its geographic location in Asia and is a microcosm of the planet, equally in arts as in culture with a subtle blend of tradition and the avant-garde. Hong Kong represents an essential pole for a brand like Greubel Forsey, and offers a door into immense new markets full of knowledgeable connoisseurs and aficionados of fine watchmaking.
Currently, Greubel Forsey employs 65 people, who support Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey in their research, and their realisation of new ideas. With all movements, everything from initial conception, design, machining, decoration, validation, to final assembly, is carried out in their manufacture in la Chaux-de-Fonds. The whole team pays meticulous and rigorous attention to the purity of the mechanisms, eliminating everything superfluous to the essential to attain the noblest expression of the Art of Watchmaking.
At the new Greubel Forsey Private Room in Hong Kong, visitors to the Elegant Watch & Jewellery boutique will be able to appreciate the Greubel Forsey collection, including three exciting new models that the brand presented with great success at their first SIHH in Genève earlier this year: a Double Tourbillon Technique with 5N red gold case, a Tourbillon 24 Secondes with platinum case and black gold dial, and Invention Piece 3, the homage to the third invention, with platinum case.
