TO par Tokujin Yoshioka pour Issey Miyake

26 mai 2010 par Crazy watches

To - Tokujin Yoshioka - Issey Miyake

Mach 2000 - Chrono Master - LIP - Roger Tallon

Kisai Tenmetsu

4 mai 2010 par Crazy watches

Tenmetsu combines precision lines and stunning contours with three subtle LED tones to create a look never before seen.  The continuous line that runs between the lenses and through the wrist band provides perfect balance and a design edge.  The new two-step time telling method is simple to learn and will change the way you think about time.

Tenmetsu
With Kisai watches, you not only get a time piece that combines stunning design with precision engineering, you get a subtle and truly original fashion statement. Kisai watches attract attention and give you the opportunity to interact. Designed and made in Japan, each element of each design has been carefully considered in order to make the best possible product.
The Kisai Brand
Kisai made its debut in Tokyo in November 2008. A dynamic series for independent people, Kisai is for those who want to turn away from dictated fashion trends. Designed in Tokyo, Kisai watches are made to a high quality standard from imaginative ideas.
Concept
Tenmetsu displays the time and date in sequence by color when the button is pressed. Red LEDs indicate 15 units, yellow LEDs indicate 5 units and green LEDs indicate 1 unit. A combination of lights indicate hours, then minutes, then the month, then the date.
Limited Edition
All Kisai watch designs are made in limited production numbers. Each watch is engraved with a unique serial number to distinguish it from every other.

Here is a selection from their huge collection :

Urwerk King Cobra CC1

4 mai 2010 par Crazy watches

The UR-CC1: the world’s first production wristwatch with true retrograde linear displays.
Linear time is displayed by two large cylinders: one for the jumping hours, the other, a retrograde cylinder for the minutes.
In another a world premiere, an ultra-light disk on the dial indicates the seconds, both digitally and linearly.

UR-CC1 Technical details

Linear operation : On the UR-CC1, there are two horizontal indications displayed by two cylinders: one for the (jumping) hours and a retrograde cylinder for the minutes.
The seconds are displayed by a rotating disk on the dial.
The UR-CC1 is the result of more than three years of research, development, production and testing to ensure that the rotation and instant fly-back of the large hour and minute cylinders was achieved without compromising accurate timekeeping.

Triple-cam : The triple-cam is crafted from bronze beryllium, a metal selected for its inherently self-lubricating properties and low co-efficient of friction, and takes the form of three small inclines. The precise shape of the curve of the incline is relayed to the pivoting rack, while the teeth on the end of the rack mesh with and rotate the minute cylinder.
The triple-cam makes a complete rotation in three hours so that each of the three inclines takes 60 minutes, and 180 points of reference have been calculated on each of the three cams to ensure the precise and isochronic rotation of the minute cylinder.

Rack : The toothed segment at the end of the rack transmits and transforms the rotation triple-cam into the rotation of the minute cylinder. The toothed rack presents two properties that at first appear contradictory: absolute rigidity, so as to accurately transmit the motion of the cam to the minute cylinder; and extremely low mass to consume as little energy as possible and minimise the effects of gravity and accelerations/shocks.
The rack has been fabricated in silicon by Mimotec using their photolithography process. The honeycomb pattern of the silicon structure resolves the two apparently contradictory requirements of maximum strength and minimum weight.

Seconds Ring : The dial is animated by a rotating disk displaying the seconds, both digitally and linearly – a world first. This incredible exploit was achieved thanks to Mimotec’s photolithography production technique, which enabled an ultra-light high-precision component.
To reduce mass to an absolute minimum, the minuscule numerals were even skeletonised. A small tab at 10 seconds bearing the URWERK logo precisely counterbalances the disk’s single-digit numbers. This marvel of micro-precision weighs only 0.09 grams, and that includes the SuperLumiNova.

Rotor Fly Brake : The pneumatic shock-absorbing Rotor Fly Brake automatic winding system minimizes rotor and mechanism wear and damage from shock and harsh movements. The operation of the Rotor Fly Brake is visible through a window on the side of the case.

The Cabestan Winch Tourbillon Vertical

4 mai 2010 par Crazy watches

The Cabestan Winch Tourbillon Vertical states its difference clearly: its movement is in its design. This unique timepiece is entirely built vertically. The system of wheels, pinions and drums is visible, mixing the silver and gilded surfaces of brass, steel nickel or aluminium, enhanced by a case in brushed titanium, in gold or platinum, and for certain models, in gold set with diamonds.

Sudoku fans, your time has come : Oris’ Leonhard Euler watch

4 mai 2010 par Crazy watches

His face appeared on the old ten Swiss Frank note, adorns a special stamp, and now also sets a watch apart: Oris has launched the Leonhard Euler jubilee watch to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Swiss mathematician. Leonhard Euler (1707-1783) pioneered natural science, laid the foundations for modern technology, and ranks on the level of Newton and Einstein for productivity.

The Oris Leonhard Euler edition, a mechanical watch, has many different connections to the great man, who opened up new horizons with his first masterpiece, Mechanica. The exclusive edition is limited worldwide to 1707 watches, all individually numbered, corresponding to Euler’s year of birth, 1707. Each has Euler’s portrait engraved on the case back. The square case symbolises the Latin Squares that occupied much of the time of the maths genius. The dial has a square-pattern to mimic Sudoku, the popular number puzzle, based on Euler’s Latin Squares some of the hour numbers. The fine leather strap completes the formula for this exceptional watch.

Oris Leonhard Euler Limited Edition – a fitting High-Mech tribute to Euler for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Special set including Sudoku game box.
